SCIENCE & TRANSFORMATION

“The powers of the sympathetic nerve are neither entirely physical nor spiritual, but are between the two. The nerve is connected with both. Its phenomena shall be perfect when its spiritual and physical relations are normal. When the material world and the divine worlds are co-related, when the hearts become heavenly and the aspirations become pure and divine, perfect connection shall take place. Then shall this power produce a perfect manifestation. Physical and spiritual disease will then receive absolute healing.” (Baha’i writing)

Transformation is about managing, mastering, or releasing the subconscious fears that keep us focused on the physical and emotional levels of consciousness and distracts us in the search for our true authentic self. It is about understanding who we are as a separate unique individual without our parental and cultural conditioning (core/primal belief system). From early childhood these patterns create a filter in our mind through which we interpret our life.

It has been discovered that the stages of brain development support the maturity of the stages of consciousness, creating the conditions and the space through which individuals interpret the world and respond accordingly.

Birth traumas, childhood injuries, major ailments, emotional stress, parental emotional state of mind prenatally and postnatal, contribute to the immaturity of the nervous system and alter the conditions necessary for soul development.

It has also been shown that human heart has its own intrinsic nervous system independent from the brain and holds the space for the development of love, compassion, empathy and intuition. (refer to the following diagram)

The significance of consistency in participation and performing the exercises:

As you are aware, to connect to spirit requires thinking and action through experiencing. In order to experience we need to be able to be receptive and still. In order to be receptive and still we need to harness our mind and body by gathering our scattered thoughts and energy to concentrate and direct our attention at will.

The exercises shared throughout Discovering your Spirituality have been used for centuries as tools to build inner strength, awareness and receptivity.

Knowing about something through reading and listening is not wisdom. Knowing about something through our own experiencing is what builds wisdom.

Individuals will greatly benefit from this course by creating their own experience through regular practice of the exercises. Each exercise builds a foundation to support the next stage. They will help to re-pattern your neurology to become more receptive to the depth and richness of connection with your spiritual source.

The inspirations we are seeking will only come from within through the act of commitment.

“The highest reward for a person’s toil is not what they get for it, but what they become by it.” John Ruskin

One of the greatest challenges we have experienced and observed in the path to self discovery is the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual preparation. You probably have heard the phrase:

“Those who fail to prepare are preparing to fail.”

Mental and physical exercises accompany each lesson, enabling the participant to build and refine his/her capacity to ask questions and answer them.  Each participant progresses at their own rate.

These tools are scientific for they are rooted in principles that apply to anyone, any time and anywhere.

The greatest challenge is to recognize that our conscious ego does not like to change and therefore prevents us from preparing for our journey by coming up with numerous excuses as why we should not start the program, do the exercises and attending the scheduled reflections.

In this course we use three ways, among many possible, to discipline the conscious ego and support the inner transformation:

  1. Doing the physical and mental exercises
  2. Reading the handouts and reflecting upon them
  3. Participating in scheduled reflections

The DYS program encourages individual investigation of the truth

The spirit of exploration and the independent search for truth is the most essential force behind the evolution of intelligence. This power of discovery is a force of nature that evolves within all living creatures, seeking ways to create awareness through our senses, feelings and spiritual capacities.

“Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is written in your religious books.

Do not believe in anything based merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.

Rather, after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” Buddhist Writing

We live in a global community and it seems that understanding many aspects of our relationships is a major step toward maturing and creating inner and outer peace. At the physical level, it is the relationship we have to our bodies and our capacity to understand its needs. At the emotional level, it is the interaction we have with each other, our capacity to identify our emotional needs and how we can learn from each other. At the mental level, the relationship expresses itself in our desire to make sense of our world, to create meaning and purpose in our life, to become a team player and in the desire to pursue a virtuous life. Within the spiritual frame of mind we realize that we are spiritual beings having an human experience. At this level the relationships manifest as a need to go within and find peace, to heighten our spiritual awareness, to understand creation and the creator and the need to contribute to something greater then ourselves, which is usually expressed as a need to serve.

This is what the “Discovering Your Spirituality” (DYS) educational program is about.

“To understand and experience the organic process of self transformation through many aspects of our relationships and the journey from survival to love, happiness, joy, empathy and compassion”

The Course schedule (6 Stages)

2

The schedule varies in different locations. It can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Please refer to the program date for the schedule.

This powerful educational program will explore the science of applied spirituality and its relationship to our daily life. It will provide individuals with an introduction to the tools necessary to access and unfold our human potential , our capacity to love and gain the skills to identify the barriers hindering our progress. The DYS facilitators, through the process of accompaniment, assists individuals to go beyond conditioned thoughts and fears to abundance, love, happiness, compassion, empathy, generosity, forgiveness and service.

The capacity to love Depends Primarily on Self Absorption, which consist of series of steps we will be practicing throughout the training:

  1. Self Respect
  2. Health creation: The body is the temple of self-transformation. Healthy body and brain will minimize the interferences in proper interpretation of environmental clues for appropriate response fostering spiritual growth.
  3. I am worth it (Am I worth the effort to be healthy physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually?)
  4. I can have what I desire
  5. I am accountable for my actions and their outcomes
  6. The Awareness that the physical plane is not an art gallery, it is a workshop. I have free will to make choices with purpose followed with action using the will power.
  7. The ability to remove distractions obstructing the path of self-discovery

As we progress through each of the higher levels of consciousness toward awareness of the spiritual self (Spirit of faith, super consciousnesses) – from which all thoughts and vibrations generate attractions of circumstances and experiences, not by chance but by divine order – we feel an Increasing sense of connectedness to the world that shows up as an expanded sense of Identity. We feel a sense of oneness with ourselves, with our family, with our Community, with the organization we work for, with our nation, with our religion, with humanity and the planet, and eventually with the whole of creation.

Another image we use to create a better understanding of the DYS program is similar to a hiker who needs to develop the skills to climb the pinnacle of self discovery.
